New Moon in Sagittarius Forecast 12/11/15

This Friday the New Moon will be in Sagittarius giving us wild and adventurous energy to work with. As always the New Moon is about setting your intentions. This particular New Moon is going to be excellent for expanding our perspectives and seeing the big picture. This Sag moon will urge us to seek growth, in any way possible. Although growth is the theme for this New Moon its worth mentioning that it will be squared to jupiter creating the opportunity for just a little too much fun, you know, the kind of too much fun that lands you in jail or has you drunk dialing your ex at 4 AM…stay away from lessons you’ve already learned and focus on NEW GROWTH, possibly in new areas.

Lets look at this New Moon spread to see what kind of themes we will be working with during tis cycle.

Theme: Simplicity

  1. 4 of Plumes {swords} - Its time to rest physically and work out your mental hang ups. Reflect on past actions and future plans. Consolidate  your mind and your grand plan for a more fruitful execution. Its time to let go of thoughts and beliefs which have been proven inaccurate or no longer useful.
  2. The Fool Rx - this represents a lull in movement and opportunity at this time, but do not let that tiny road block keep you for reaching your goals, use this time to rethink your plans, rework your ideas and reenergize yourself for whats to come.
  3. Empress - Progression with plans is likely when the empress appears, this card represents abundance and the home. She blesses those who work to take care of their own, and can be honored by sharing what you have with others.

Recap - Rest, Reorganize, Receive

November - Deck of the Month

With the Scorpio season in mind I selected my Nicoletta Ceccoli Tarot to use for the month of November! I have had this deck for a while and would like to unravel a few more of its mysteries! I took some incredible pictures of this deck this last spring that you can check out here if you want to see more of the deck! Grab your deck and lets jump in!

I will be using my Interview Your Deck spread, heres a visual.

After a few deep breaths I drew 6 cards, lets see what they have to say about this deck!

1 - Please introduce yourself - The High Priestess - I am a highly feminine deck and will give you the best results if you read me intuitively setting aside the more traditional meanings. I would love to inspire creative projects and am the best deck you could have for reading into emotional issues. I have a deep well of sacred knowledge that I am willing to share when you are ready.

2 - Your strengths as a deck - The 2 of Cups - I can pierce deep into the emotional realms so I am suited well to readings about relationships and emotional issues. My imagery brings to mind elements of youth and would be great for understanding the impacts of childhood in the context of relationships.

3 - You limitations as a deck - The 3 of Pentacles - I am not suited for practical, logical or financial readings. I find these subjects dull and out of my wheel house.

4 - What can I learn from you - The Knight of Pentacles - I can teach you the value of mastering your emotional self and learning to deal with others in a more sensitive way. Slow and steady progress will be out path together.

5 - Whats the best way to work with you - The Hermit - One on one. I am a deck that you look at, ponder and then look at again. Get lost in my pictures and allow your mind to wander when you work with me. I do know like anything too structures so free form spreads would be best.

6 - Outcome of our relationship - The Queen of Wands - I will inspire you creatively and emotionally, uncovering new depths and realms of the tarot.

I love that two of my personal cards (HP and QofW) came up in this reading! I love these cards and Im excited to do some work with them this month! Keep your eye out for my YouTube review of this deck and let me know what deck you are working with the most this month!

Commune, Communicate, Commemorate

JOY VERNON                     MASTER LIST               CHRISTIANA GAUDET

Welcome to my very first BLOG HOP! There are links above to lead you to the blogs before and after mine and a master list so you can see them all in one place! Yay community!

This month’s topic is:

Samhain is the time of the feast of the dead in many cultures. For our topic, I would like you to post about a loved one or someone you admired/disliked (historical figures are fair game) that ties in with Tarot, Lenormand or an Oracle deck.

***Commune, Communicate, Commemorate with those who have gone on before us. ***

The most influential, kindest, and generous man I ever knew, is my Papa Willie. He is also the only person I’ve ever known that has died.

Prior to my Papa passing over, I never had a strong fear of death. Death seemed like a natural transition in life because of my belief in reincarnation, working with the Tarot, and learning Astrology at such a young age. My dreams and thoughts were not haunted by death because I knew there are many more lifetimes to come.

When Papa Willie left us, I lost my hero, my idol and love of my life. It was hard to accept that he had died and was never coming back. The first two months after he was gone my life was a hot mess. I would listen to “Miss American Pie” on repeat and cry endlessly. I couldn’t feel his energy or his spirit anywhere, I went into crisis mode. Soon, I was questioning my intuition and beliefs that I’ve always known were true. When I could eventually compose myself enough to go into public the first person I saw was my personal psychic, Bright Eyes.

There were questions I had for Bright Eyes that I needed help answering. Why I could not feel my Papa around me? Where was he and what could I do about the huge hole he left behind? The reading took place many years ago but I’ll never forget what Bright Eyes said. Bright Eyes told me that Papa Willie was happy about where he moved on to and he was watching over everyone in my family. Bright Eyes said that Papa Willie had been keeping his distance with me because I was more sensitive and in tune with him; he was having a hard time controlling my emotions whenever he was close to me or on my mind. He said I was right all along and to never stop trusting myself. Papa Willie also told me he was proud and to always keep reaching for my goals. The most important message I received was that my Papa was still there for me to talk to and lean on. I just had to learn to listen in a different, or higher way.

Since that reading, my Papa Willie and I have developed the most beautiful spiritual relationship and we commune on a daily basis when I read the Tarot for myself. The altar I keep is dedicated to him and my family speaks his name so often, an outsider may think he’s in the next room and not just with us in spirit. I’m not the type to tell anyone how to deal with their grief or what to believe about death, but this is my experience and you’re welcome to it.

From what I’ve learned, I created a 5 card spread to help anyone get in touch with their spirit guides.

If you have any questions please leave them in the comments!

Tarot vs Oracles

What’s the big difference?

I like to think of the Tarot and Oracle relating to the left and right sides of the brain.

Left Side (Logical)

The Tarot is systematic, logical and only has 78 cards. Tarot has 22 Majors which represent The Fool’s Journey start to finish and 56 Minors or Pip cards that relate to personalities and everyday situations. The Tarot is the older of the two traditions and requires memorization to be effective. Intuition does come into play with Tarot but it is mixed with the study and structure of its history.

Right Side (Intuitive)

Oracle decks are less traditional and have varying themes and meanings. They do not have a set amount of cards in each deck or a set structure. They are read intuitively and leave interpretation to the user in some cases. Where as Tarot is a consistent system that can be read with any version of a Tarot deck, Oracles are unique to themselves. Oracles have specific themes and purposes that do no translate between different deckS usually.

 Personal Preference

I got my hands on my first Tarot deck and book when I was 14. I love the history and student aspect of Tarot. I took the time to learn Tarot like it was my job (which it is now). My Cancer ascending sign makes me a lover of anything with a rich history so I think it’s safe to say that Tarot is my main dish. That being said I do own BOTH! I have different uses for both Tarot and Oracle decks. For personal readings and client readings I use primarily Tarot. I have about 30 different Tarot decks that I keep in rotation so things never get stale (Venus in Gemini). I love to use Oracle decks for meditation, visualization, scrapbooking and journaling. Sometimes when doing daily readings I like to pull one card from the Tarot and one card from an Oracle just depending on my mood.

Which is right for you?

-Is there one you feel more drawn to? Tarot or Oracle?

-Do you like structure or are you more loosey goosey?

-Do you have time to devote to study or are you getting in spirit time in between work, school and family?

-Does the idea of 78 cards feel overwhelming? Yes/No

-Are you planning to use your cards in conjunction with another spiritual practice? Yes/No

-Are you a details person or a big picture person?

{Maybe you’re meant to work with both!}
