October Deck Of The Month - The Halloween Tarot
For the month of October I will be working exclusively with The Halloween Tarot by Karin Lee; Art by Kipling West. I just purchased this deck at the spirit fair and I am really excited to get to know it. My Halloween Tarot came in a tin which I am loving more and more as I can carry it around without worrying about wear and tear. The deck was inspired in part by The Nightmare Before Christmas which I thought was pretty neat being a huge fan myself.
The first real difference I noticed was the suit names:
Pumpkins = Pentacles
Ghosts = Cups
Imps = Wands
Bats = Swords
They still have the traditional symbols in the Minor Arcana which cuts down on the confusion but it still took my by surprise when I was shuffling through the deck. I am going to do a spread I created to get some insight into this deck!
Feel Free to follow along if you have a new deck you would like to get to know. When I open a new deck I like sit in front of my altar and take it back to childhood by mixing my deck in a huge pile in front of me on my tarot mat.
1. HALLOWEEN TAROT, PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF. THREE OF BATS - I am a deck that cuts deep into the heart of matters. I do not sugar coat my words and you can always expect a clear reading from me.
2. HALLOWEEN TAROT, WHAT ARE YOUR STRENGTHS? THE MAGICIAN - I excel at manifestation, magic, spell casting, and can bring together any ritual.
3. HALLOWEEN TAROT, WHAT ARE YOUR LIMITATIONS? THE SIX OF GHOSTS - I am limited in the emotional realm. I do not quite understand sentiment and sensitivity.
4. HALLOWEEN TAROT, WHAT DO I HAVE TO LEARN FROM YOU? STRENGTH - I am here to teach you that sometimes in magic a gentle touch is much more effective than a shove.
5. HALLOWEEN TAROT, WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO WORK WITH YOU? KNIGHT OF GHOSTS REVERSED - It would be best to work with me in a way that is logical, practical and unemotional.
6. HALLOWEEN TAROT, WHAT WILL BE THE OUTCOME OF OUR RELATIONSHIP? FIVE OF PUMPKINS REVERSED - Together we clear out your emotional baggage and change your outlook on the energy of money.
I must say some of the Halloween Tarot's answers were pleasantly surprising. I'm not sure what I was really expecting to learn from this deck but my excitement has been rekindled all over again!
What deck have you been using the most lately? Do you use several decks or just one on a regular basis? Habits of other readers have always fascinated me so please do share.

Mercury In Retrograde Themes
For my friends that chose number 1 - You picked the Ace of Cups as your theme for this Mercury Retrograde. This is a card about emotional abundance and joy. Congratulations, you will be very in sync with this planetary cycle. That is really good news as your emotions will not likely be as confused and misinterpreted as everyone else. You will likely feel more intuitive during this period noticing synchronizations at every turn. This card mixed with Mercury Retro grade can sometimes mean an unexpected pregnancy so be extra careful if that is not in the immediate plan. That last bit obviously does not apply to everyone.
For my friends that chose number 2 - You picked the 5 of Swords as your theme for this Mercury Retrograde. This card is about the struggle between moving forward into the unknown or staying entrenched in the familiar. In my humble opinion the unknown is always the most highly rewarded. This period of growth is necessary for future success of your long term dreams. This is a cycle of paying your dues so that you so you can overcome any obstacle that has been standing in your way. In regards to the Retrograde make sure your plans are air tight and well organized so Mercury does not catch you unawares!
For my friends that chose number 3 - You picked the 6 of Wands for your theme this Mercury Retrograde. This is the VICTORY card! You have been working hard towards a goal and it will be realized during this planetary cycle. This card indicates financial rewards in relation to career. Sometimes this card can mean that it is good timing to pursue creative endeavors. This is a very powerful card to get during Mercury Retrograde so use this energy to push through any final obstacles standing in your way. Also know that you are supported in your community and craft.

Reveal and Review: Connected and Free Alchemist Oracle
It finally arrived from Australia! My Alchemist Oracle deck is here and it's everything promised and more!
I am really excited to work with this deck because it is so vastly different from tarot. It has no order, no numbers, no suits and was intentionally designed to be read with your intuition giving new meanings to the cards each time you read them. I have heard people in Tarot/Oracle groups refer to this oracle as being a sister deck to the Wild Unknown Tarot and that is a spot on assessment!
Check out The Star card from Wild Unknown next to the Abundance card from Alchemist Oracle! Say whaaaaat? These are awesome!
I have always considered my Wild Unknown deck to be obscure and magical and this Alchemist Oracle feels the same way. It speaks through its amazing artwork, choice of keywords and attention to detail.
Here are the nitty gritty facts for all of you who have been pining over this deck but haven't pulled the trigger.
I purchased the deck at www.innerhue.com, the deck itself was $50, shipping from Australia to US was $22.
The Alchemist Oracle arrived in 8 days. It was beautifully wrapped and packaged which you can see in my reveal video below! There was a genuinely sweet, hand written thank you note included as well.
