Noble Lion's Tarot Journal + Printable Tarot Cards

Today, Im going to show off my personal Tarot Journal and give you ideas on how to create your very own. If you're here for the printable Tarot Cards you can find that link below.

I primarily use my Tarot Journal for study and recording personal readings, but there are no limits to what you could do with yours! Some of my online Tarot friends record their dreams, predictions and rituals as well.

You can totally pull off this journal on a budget if you want something basic or if you're like me you probably have a ton of what you need already lying around the house! These are just my recommended supplies, use your imagination and add whatever feels right - {GLITTER} {UNICORN FARTS} {WHATEVS}

For study, I really liked the idea of having a tarot card glued to each page that I could easily reference back to without having to search through a separate deck or use a book. I found this free printable mini tarot deck to print out and glue into my journal. It was time consuming but totally worth it!

I prettied up my dividers a bit using my favorite stickers from Papaya Art! You could also paint or doodle on your dividers to give them a personal touch.

Hopefully this is enough to get you excited for making your own Tarot Journal! I love mine and know one day when its full, i'll be really glad I had the foresight to put it all together so neatly. If you have any comments or questions leave them below!

Using the New Moon to Set Intentions

Working with The New Moon

The New Moon is viewed by many intuitives as the beginning or the void. When you look to the sky the NM is completely dark and symbolizes the blank slate before creation takes place.

This phase is notoriously helpful when setting intentions and laying down ground work in manifestations. We tend to attract new people and opportunities with ease during the NM and its also optimal for abundance and prosperity spells of all kinds!

This time of the month encourages us to forgive others and ourselves. Its a time to allow hope and optimism back into our lives release anything we've been holding on to from the previous cycle.

Noble Lion’s Guide to Setting New Moon Intentions

Here is my process, keep in mind that all magic is unique and you do not have to do things the same way, take what resonates and ditch the rest, you wont hurt my feelings!

  1. Gather your witchy supplies! I like to set the mood by smudging my space and lighting a few candles at my altar. I always keep a journal, pen, and tarot deck handy and add whatever else I’m feeling at the time be it incense, crystals or blessed rose water. The only supplies I would say are absolutely necessary would be your journal and writing utensil, the rest is for ambiance and will in no way effect the power of your intentions if you do not have them.
  2. Think! Like really, sit down in your sacred space and think about where you're at, where you're going and what you REALLY want. Think about what you are grateful for and begin writing down your intentions as they come to you. Be as specific as possible to ensure that you don't end up with something you may not have intended to manifest. Your list may be a single thing or go on for pages, there is no right or wrong way to set your intentions so do what feels right!
  3. Visualize! Once you have written down your intentions take some time to close your eyes and watch what you have just asked for unfold in your minds eye. Are you trying to manifest a house? What does it look like, is it brick or does it have siding? Are you in the country or surrounded by city neighbors? How many bathrooms does it have? Is the yard big or small and easy to manage? Does your dream house have a fence?.. You get the idea.
  4. Allow the Universe to do her thing! Manifestations take time and likely wont happen overnight, I say likely because you never know! Be patient and have faith that the Universe will deliver.
  5. Follow up with action! What can you do to help your intentions along? Going back to the buying a house scenario, are there papers that you could be filling out? Programs you could be talking to? Real estate agents that you could be interviewing? Don't expect the universe to do all the work, this is were a lot of people slip up and don't end up seeing results.

Commune, Communicate, Commemorate

JOY VERNON                     MASTER LIST               CHRISTIANA GAUDET

Welcome to my very first BLOG HOP! There are links above to lead you to the blogs before and after mine and a master list so you can see them all in one place! Yay community!

This month’s topic is:

Samhain is the time of the feast of the dead in many cultures. For our topic, I would like you to post about a loved one or someone you admired/disliked (historical figures are fair game) that ties in with Tarot, Lenormand or an Oracle deck.

***Commune, Communicate, Commemorate with those who have gone on before us. ***

The most influential, kindest, and generous man I ever knew, is my Papa Willie. He is also the only person I’ve ever known that has died.

Prior to my Papa passing over, I never had a strong fear of death. Death seemed like a natural transition in life because of my belief in reincarnation, working with the Tarot, and learning Astrology at such a young age. My dreams and thoughts were not haunted by death because I knew there are many more lifetimes to come.

When Papa Willie left us, I lost my hero, my idol and love of my life. It was hard to accept that he had died and was never coming back. The first two months after he was gone my life was a hot mess. I would listen to “Miss American Pie” on repeat and cry endlessly. I couldn’t feel his energy or his spirit anywhere, I went into crisis mode. Soon, I was questioning my intuition and beliefs that I’ve always known were true. When I could eventually compose myself enough to go into public the first person I saw was my personal psychic, Bright Eyes.

There were questions I had for Bright Eyes that I needed help answering. Why I could not feel my Papa around me? Where was he and what could I do about the huge hole he left behind? The reading took place many years ago but I’ll never forget what Bright Eyes said. Bright Eyes told me that Papa Willie was happy about where he moved on to and he was watching over everyone in my family. Bright Eyes said that Papa Willie had been keeping his distance with me because I was more sensitive and in tune with him; he was having a hard time controlling my emotions whenever he was close to me or on my mind. He said I was right all along and to never stop trusting myself. Papa Willie also told me he was proud and to always keep reaching for my goals. The most important message I received was that my Papa was still there for me to talk to and lean on. I just had to learn to listen in a different, or higher way.

Since that reading, my Papa Willie and I have developed the most beautiful spiritual relationship and we commune on a daily basis when I read the Tarot for myself. The altar I keep is dedicated to him and my family speaks his name so often, an outsider may think he’s in the next room and not just with us in spirit. I’m not the type to tell anyone how to deal with their grief or what to believe about death, but this is my experience and you’re welcome to it.

From what I’ve learned, I created a 5 card spread to help anyone get in touch with their spirit guides.

If you have any questions please leave them in the comments!

Tarot vs Oracles

What’s the big difference?

I like to think of the Tarot and Oracle relating to the left and right sides of the brain.

Left Side (Logical)

The Tarot is systematic, logical and only has 78 cards. Tarot has 22 Majors which represent The Fool’s Journey start to finish and 56 Minors or Pip cards that relate to personalities and everyday situations. The Tarot is the older of the two traditions and requires memorization to be effective. Intuition does come into play with Tarot but it is mixed with the study and structure of its history.

Right Side (Intuitive)

Oracle decks are less traditional and have varying themes and meanings. They do not have a set amount of cards in each deck or a set structure. They are read intuitively and leave interpretation to the user in some cases. Where as Tarot is a consistent system that can be read with any version of a Tarot deck, Oracles are unique to themselves. Oracles have specific themes and purposes that do no translate between different deckS usually.

 Personal Preference

I got my hands on my first Tarot deck and book when I was 14. I love the history and student aspect of Tarot. I took the time to learn Tarot like it was my job (which it is now). My Cancer ascending sign makes me a lover of anything with a rich history so I think it’s safe to say that Tarot is my main dish. That being said I do own BOTH! I have different uses for both Tarot and Oracle decks. For personal readings and client readings I use primarily Tarot. I have about 30 different Tarot decks that I keep in rotation so things never get stale (Venus in Gemini). I love to use Oracle decks for meditation, visualization, scrapbooking and journaling. Sometimes when doing daily readings I like to pull one card from the Tarot and one card from an Oracle just depending on my mood.

Which is right for you?

-Is there one you feel more drawn to? Tarot or Oracle?

-Do you like structure or are you more loosey goosey?

-Do you have time to devote to study or are you getting in spirit time in between work, school and family?

-Does the idea of 78 cards feel overwhelming? Yes/No

-Are you planning to use your cards in conjunction with another spiritual practice? Yes/No

-Are you a details person or a big picture person?

{Maybe you’re meant to work with both!}

October Deck Of The Month - The Halloween Tarot

For the month of October I will be working exclusively with The Halloween Tarot by Karin Lee; Art by Kipling West. I just purchased this deck at the spirit fair and I am really excited to get to know it. My Halloween Tarot came in a tin which I am loving more and more as I can carry it around without worrying about wear and tear. The deck was inspired in part by The Nightmare Before Christmas which I thought was pretty neat being a huge fan myself.

The first real difference I noticed was the suit names:

Pumpkins = Pentacles

Ghosts = Cups

Imps = Wands

Bats = Swords

They still have the traditional symbols in the Minor Arcana which cuts down on the confusion but it still took my by surprise when I was shuffling through the deck. I am going to do a spread I created to get some insight into this deck!

Feel Free to follow along if you have a new deck you would like to get to know. When I open a new deck I like sit in front of my altar and take it back to childhood by mixing my deck in a huge pile in front of me on my tarot mat.

1. HALLOWEEN TAROT, PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF. THREE OF BATS - I am a deck that cuts deep into the heart of matters. I do not sugar coat my words and you can always expect a clear reading from me.

2. HALLOWEEN TAROT, WHAT ARE YOUR STRENGTHS? THE MAGICIAN - I excel at manifestation, magic, spell casting, and can bring together any ritual.

3. HALLOWEEN TAROT, WHAT ARE YOUR LIMITATIONS? THE SIX OF GHOSTS - I am limited in the emotional realm. I do not quite understand sentiment and sensitivity.

4. HALLOWEEN TAROT, WHAT DO I HAVE TO LEARN FROM YOU? STRENGTH - I am here to teach you that sometimes in magic a gentle touch is much more effective than a shove.

5. HALLOWEEN TAROT, WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO WORK WITH YOU? KNIGHT OF GHOSTS REVERSED - It would be best to work with me in a way that is logical, practical and unemotional.

6. HALLOWEEN TAROT, WHAT WILL BE THE OUTCOME OF OUR RELATIONSHIP? FIVE OF PUMPKINS REVERSED - Together we clear out your emotional baggage and change your outlook on the energy of money.

I must say some of the Halloween Tarot's answers were pleasantly surprising. I'm not sure what I was really expecting to learn from this deck but my excitement has been rekindled all over again!

What deck have you been using the most lately? Do you use several decks or just one on a regular basis? Habits of other readers have always fascinated me so please do share.
