Heartstrings and Tarot Reading

Previous | Master List | Next

Relationships and Tarot go together like Batman and Robin. Tarot can be used to understand and improve all relationships. Having an issue with your boss? Is your neighbor driving you crazy? Are things off with you and a close friend? Sounds like its time for a reading

Tarot is an amazing tool for analyzing relationships. Whether you are looking for love, want to dig deeper in your current relationship or having problems, the Tarot can help in all aspects.

I do regular readings with my husband to check in and see where we are at and it's surprising how much comes to the surface during these sessions. I think open communication is the key to success in any relationship and the Tarot is a great facilitator of that.

One of my favorite uses for Tarot is to determine an individuals motivation. In life people do not always say what they mean and mean what they say. Tarot can bring inner motivations to light helping us to make informed decisions about people. This method of reading has saved me from bad decisions in my personal and business life on several occasions.

For example: If I am doing a relationship reading for someone and the Tower comes up, I might think that their relationship will be short lived or about to change drastically. If the Three of Cups comes up in a reading, one person may be emotionally involved with someone else leading me to wonder if they are really committed to the relationship or a threesome could be on the horizon. ;)

Lets do some practical application! Heres the first spread we will be using, if you have a relationship questions grab your deck and follow along!

Stacy and Jack have been having a hard go of it, they split up a few weeks ago and cannot decide if they should be together or not. Lets try out this relationship spread and see what they should do moving forward.

Partner 1 - Stacy - The Three of Cups represents celebrations, parties and loose emotional ties indicating that Stacy is seeking out the company of friends to get over this recent breakup. She may have another emotional interest that is dividing her attention. Stacy seems to be adjusting well and feeling pretty optimistic about where she is in life.

Emotional Needs - Stacy - The Wheel of Fortune is a card about riding the high tides of life. Everything is temporary but for now Stacy is focusing on herself and moving in an upward direction. She has found a sense of independence and is enjoying what life is throwing her way right now.

Area to work on - Stacy - The Six of Crystals (Pentacles) is a card about inner growth and prosperity. Now is the time for Stacy to channel her energy into her spiritual needs and refocus on abundance and prosperity. Stacy may be seeking out a new job to increase her income and ability to provide for herself.

Partner 2 - Jack - The Two of Cups is the relationship or marriage card suggesting that Jack is still emotionally invested in this situation. He may be holding on to the romanticized idea of what once was when he should be focused on the now and the reality of the situation.

Emotional Needs - Jack - The Two of Crystals (Pentacles) signifies finding a balance in life. It may be time for Jack to reach out to his friends and family to help support him at this time. Perhaps Jack needs to get back to the basics and remember what it is that he loves to do outside of this situation.

Area to work on - Jack - The Eight of Swords suggests an inability to move forward. Jacks perception surrounding this relationship may be clouded causing him to keep himself available when it may be healthier to move on.

Advice from Spirit - The Six of Swords - Its time to move on because this ship has sailed. Its time to let go and make sacrifices for the sake of moving forward. This may be a hard decision to make but know it is temporary and moving on will benefit you both in the long run.

Outcome - Awakening - It is time to ‘wake up’ and trust your inner voice. Stacy and Jack probably both know that this relationship is not in the interest of their highest good. That doesn’t have to mean in happened in vain. Its okay to look back on this relationship and see the lessons and successes it brought to your life. It happened for a reason and that is something to be grateful for.

Lets look at a second example using only five cards.

For this reading we will be peeking into the relationship of Mary and Alex. They have been together for a long while and want to check in on the status of their loving relationship, lets see how this spread applies.

Seeker - Mary - The Queen of Crystals (Pentacles) has a steady and stable energy about her, a strong connection with the earth and a steady and committed heart. She likes to handle the finances in the relationship and enjoys the finer things in life.

Partner - Alex - The Knight of Wands is active, imaginative and full of energy. He is constantly trying new things and looking for the spice in life. He is sometimes guilty of not finishing every project he starts but his heart is made of gold.

For better - The Seven of Wands indicates that victory is possible when these two work together. Triumph is possible through personal courage and inner strength. This is an energetic and dynamic time for this relationship, its important to stay strong for each other. Do not be afraid to speak the truth as it will be well received. This relationship is headed in a positive direction.

For worse - The Seven of Cups suggests that there is a propensity towards fantasy and temptation, it’s time to ground those energies and make a lasting commitment to this relationship. Daydreaming is okay, just don't take it too far.

Outcome - The Ten of Cups signifies great happiness in all areas of family, life and love. This is a card of mutual respect within this relationship and has all the building blocks of something that will last the test of time. There is an understanding of the universal force of love and a sense of oneness within this relationship

These are just two example of how a relationship reading could go. Each reading is going to be unique, as each relationship is unique! Feel free to PIN these Relationship Spreads for later use. Commune, Communicate, Commemorate

JOY VERNON                     MASTER LIST               CHRISTIANA GAUDET

Welcome to my very first BLOG HOP! There are links above to lead you to the blogs before and after mine and a master list so you can see them all in one place! Yay community!

This month’s topic is:

Samhain is the time of the feast of the dead in many cultures. For our topic, I would like you to post about a loved one or someone you admired/disliked (historical figures are fair game) that ties in with Tarot, Lenormand or an Oracle deck.

***Commune, Communicate, Commemorate with those who have gone on before us. ***

The most influential, kindest, and generous man I ever knew, is my Papa Willie. He is also the only person I’ve ever known that has died.

Prior to my Papa passing over, I never had a strong fear of death. Death seemed like a natural transition in life because of my belief in reincarnation, working with the Tarot, and learning Astrology at such a young age. My dreams and thoughts were not haunted by death because I knew there are many more lifetimes to come.

When Papa Willie left us, I lost my hero, my idol and love of my life. It was hard to accept that he had died and was never coming back. The first two months after he was gone my life was a hot mess. I would listen to “Miss American Pie” on repeat and cry endlessly. I couldn’t feel his energy or his spirit anywhere, I went into crisis mode. Soon, I was questioning my intuition and beliefs that I’ve always known were true. When I could eventually compose myself enough to go into public the first person I saw was my personal psychic, Bright Eyes.

There were questions I had for Bright Eyes that I needed help answering. Why I could not feel my Papa around me? Where was he and what could I do about the huge hole he left behind? The reading took place many years ago but I’ll never forget what Bright Eyes said. Bright Eyes told me that Papa Willie was happy about where he moved on to and he was watching over everyone in my family. Bright Eyes said that Papa Willie had been keeping his distance with me because I was more sensitive and in tune with him; he was having a hard time controlling my emotions whenever he was close to me or on my mind. He said I was right all along and to never stop trusting myself. Papa Willie also told me he was proud and to always keep reaching for my goals. The most important message I received was that my Papa was still there for me to talk to and lean on. I just had to learn to listen in a different, or higher way.

Since that reading, my Papa Willie and I have developed the most beautiful spiritual relationship and we commune on a daily basis when I read the Tarot for myself. The altar I keep is dedicated to him and my family speaks his name so often, an outsider may think he’s in the next room and not just with us in spirit. I’m not the type to tell anyone how to deal with their grief or what to believe about death, but this is my experience and you’re welcome to it.

From what I’ve learned, I created a 5 card spread to help anyone get in touch with their spirit guides.

If you have any questions please leave them in the comments!

JOY VERNON                     MASTER LIST               CHRISTIANA GAUDET

5 Keys to Happiness

1. Surround yourself with people who love and support you. The old saying "birds of a feather flock together" could not be more on point! Make sure  you are surrounding yourself with people who inspire you and encourage you to reach your dreams. Don't be afraid to let go of relationships that bring you down or drain away your precious energy. Take note of how you feel after hanging out with someone. Do you feel energized? Excited? Drained? Depressed? All of those emotions are indicative of your internal compass, follow it well.

2. Spend time WITH yourself BY yourself. In this busy day and age it seems like no one makes time to sit in peace and quite anymore. Its important to put down all the electronics and allow yourself to realign. Take a bath, go for a run, paint a picture, meditate, whatever works for you. When we turn off the "noise of life" we can hear our inner voice come through. It is important to stay connected to your higher self and divine purpose.

3. Treat Yo' Self! Seriously. When was the last time you did something really nice just for you? My guess is its been too long. If not, good for you! Life is short and its important to make sure you are living it. We get so busy with work and relationships and responsibilities that we forget to enjoy ourselves. Even if its something as simple as taking yourself to the park, getting some treat coffee or seeing a movie solo, DO IT!

4. Cut people pleasing out of your life. When you start doing what YOU want to do a magical thing called happiness starts happening. It is too easy to fall into family and friend guilt traps, putting everyone else's needs in front of your own but it is not healthy. You have to take care of your needs before you can give to a single other person. People pleasing causes resentment and ill will in the long run so be honest and up front about what you do and don't want to do. Boundaries are a wonderful thing and your right as a grown ass person!

5. Find your tribe! Accept who you are and join a community. What makes you smile? Music? Dance? Art? Home Decor? Cooking? Tarot? Slam Poetry? Cross Dressing? Whatever your into, you can guarantee there is a tribe out there waiting for you that's into the same thing! Accepting yourself and being apart of a community of like minded people can really do wonders for the soul.

Spoken like a true Leo, I always say its okay to be selfish. Taking care of yourself first is not a crime. Women especially are expected to bend over backwards and put their dreams and desires on the back burner for others. I think it is important to fill up your own spiritual cup before you start pouring your energy into other people.

Like Rue Paul says "Honey, if you don't love yourself, how in the HELL you gonna love somebody else?"
